I really think dear old Oscar was bang on the money! We are all influenced by others to a greater or lesser extent. At ROAD, we make this principle the central motivating factor in all we do. We focus on those networked and motivated individuals that really matter. Talking with them, rewarding them, giving them every reason to pass their opinions to friends. In these times of financial uncertainty, perhaps the only recommendation worth its salt comes through your personal or professional network.
Why not ask of yourself these three questions…
- Does my PR go anywhere?
- Does it make a meaningful connection with my customers or potential customers?
- Can I encourage the recommendation of my services or products?
Oscar may have had the power of wit and the written word at this disposal, but he didn’t have ROAD’s magic box of PR and digital tricks to engage, manage and motivate. Or the internet for that matter. Anyway, let’s be honest with one another, who’s got the time to read the entire works of Oscar Wilde just to pluck out one smart quote? No-one of course – we just Google it – don’t we?
